Super Eagles legend, Jay-Jay Okocha has showered encomiums on Victor Osimhen, saying he has been impressed with the Nigerian striker's performances this season.

Osimhen is already set to etch his name into the football history books, judging by his brilliant form for Napoli, where he is currently topping the Serie A scoring table with 21 goals this term.

His brilliance in front of the goal has made him a target of many clubs in Europe, who are reportedly preparing to table offers to the Italian club in the summer.

Okocha urges Osimhen to switch

Speaking with BBC Africa, in a video posted on Twitter, Okocha stated emphatically that Osimhen has shown he has the qualities to excel in the Premier League.

The former Bolton Wanderers midfielder added he would love to see his compatriot feature in the English league for Manchester United or even Manchester City.

''I would love him to join Man City, but they already have Haaland and that won't be possible, but Man United have been struggling in front of goals and I think that will be a better place for him to move to.''

Okocha was at Bolton from 2002 to 2006, netting 14 goals in 124 appearances.

Osimhen wants to help Nigeria

Sports Brief previously reported on Osimhen revealing his current goal to help the Super Eagles in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.

So far this term, he has been an important member of Napoli's squad and has won the hearts of fans through his goal-scoring skills.

Following his team's victory over Torino, Osimhen took to social media and turned his attention to the game against Guinea Bissau.
