According to the report on Naija Footballer, Lookman explained that choosing the Super Eagles over England was a big decision he thought about for long before he made up his mind.
He started playing for the Super Eagles in 2022 and has so far made six appearances for Nigeria netting one goal.

Statement made by Lookman
''It was nothing to do with my parents because they would not tell me to go there or here. I wanted to build a career internationally and the decision was something I thought about for a long time before making.
''To play for Nigeria is an honour first of all and the best decision I ever made which I am happy about.''
Meanwhile, Lookman is expected to resume with the Super Eagles when the AFCON qualifiers start later this year.
Chelsea urged to sign Lookman
Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how former Kwara United coach Abdullahi Biffo urged those in charge of Premier League side, Chelsea, to do all their best to sign Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman.
Lookman is currently the man of the moment in the Serie A as the Nigerian keeps firing goals in all cylinders for Atalanta as he recently registered his 12th goal of the term.
Chelsea on the other hand have not been having their campaign rosy this season in the topflight and fans are afraid that they might not finish among the top four at the end of the season.
The Blues are currently placed 10th on the Premier League table and they must raise their games if they want to play Champions League next season.
Sports Brief spoke with Biffo who is currently in the US, and the experienced gaffer claimed that Lookman can help the Blues upfront if they can sign him.
