Statement made by Ighalo

''We knew there were going to be some big games played in Morocco, so we’re really excited and looking forward to it. It’s always a great honour to play in these type of games against big teams. So we’re working hard and looking forward to the tournament.

''Since I joined, every tournament we go out there to win. The league, the Champions League, the King’s Cup, the Club World Cup. Every game we play is like a final. When you put on the shirt of Al Hilal, you always have to win. We want to go for every trophy. It’s exactly the same for this Club World Cup.
''Look at Morocco at the World Cup, for instance. Nobody gave them a chance. They got to the semi-final and they almost got to the final.''

Ighalo nets as Al Hilal beat Al Ittihad

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Odion Ighalo continued with his brilliant form in the Saudi Arabian League on Thursday night, January 5, as he scored the winner for Al-Hilal in their 1-0 win at Al-Ittihad.

Following draws in their last two fixtures, Ighalo and his teammates knew that a win was what they needed, and they did themselves lots of good by grabbing the three points.

The hosts started the game impressively with their fans expecting them to score early, but they were unable to get the breakthrough.

It was in the 12th minute that the former Manchester United striker scored for his side. His effort ended up being the only goal of the game and earned his side three points.
