African Rites Performed As Crowd Welcomes Emmanuel Adebayor Togo Community for Special Project

Togolese legend Emmanuel Adebayor visited a local community in the country for a special assignment on Friday, November 18.

The 38-year-old, who is unofficially retired, has continued to embark on ambassadorial works in and out of Africa.

He is also said to attending to several of his businesses in Togo as well as other charity works to help improve the livelihood of the less privileged.

In a clip shared by the former Arsenal man on Social Media, Adebayor was welcomed specially to the local community as traditional rites were performed.

The ex-international later wrote:

SEA, today is a special and historic day! In partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development; the SEA Foundation officially launches its training and incubation program for young Togolese in Agribusiness.”

Only recently, he pledged to sponsor the education of a brilliant Togolese student known as Godwin Sodji.

Adebayor, through his Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor foundation, will foot the educational bills of young Sodji as he starts his education at the African Institute of Sciences, Technologies and Trade.

He congratulated the student for emerging top in a national exam in Togo and has promised to help him realize his dreams of pursuing Law and Political Science.

Sports Brief earlier reported that the former team captain of the Sparrow Hawks of Togo, Adebayor, was mobbed by a crowd after attempting to walk around in his home country.

The superstar, who featured for top European clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester City, could not help but express joy as youths marched with him in a local community.

Some of the youths could be heard saying ‘Welcome Seyi’ while another voice was heard screaming ‘clear the way', as many of the youths brought out their phones and clicked away as they all expressed delight to see arguably the greatest footballer ever from Togo.
