Former Nigerian international Sunday Oliseh has arrived in Qatar and has joined other technical experts selected to bring enhanced football intelligence to fans during the World Cup.

Sharing photos on his social media handles, Oliseh was spotted with Germany legend Jurgen Klinsmann, ex-Swiss international Pascal Zuberbuhler (Zubi), among six panelists led by former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is just 24 hours away and the world is already on the standstill for football’s biggest show.

Hosts Qatar take on Ecuador in the opening fixture on Sunday, November 20, and despite that Nigeria failed to qualify for the tournament, former captain and coach of the country’s national team, Oliseh, is on a special assignment at the global showpiece.

He wrote:

Nigeria conceded their ticket to Ghana after the Black Stars proceeded to the competition courtesy of the away goals rule.

During the final round of the World Cup qualifiers, it had ended 0-0 in Kumasi, but Ghana forced Nigeria to a 1-1 draw in Abuja in the reverse fixture to qualify courtesy of the away goal’s rule.

Gernot Rohr blames Pinnick for Nigeria’s WC debacle

Sports Brief earlier reported that former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has lashed out at the ex-Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick, over Nigeria's failure to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

Rohr had led the team to the final round of the World Cup qualifiers, but the Franco-German tactician was fired on the eve of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Augustine Eguavoen was then appointed to lead Nigeria, but the team crashed out in the second round of the AFCON tournament and lost to Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers.
