It was after Nigeria failed to qualify for the World Cup that NFF chiefs then appointed Peseiro as new coach of the Super Eagles.

According to the report on Owngoalnigeria, the Portuguese explained that he is still nursing the pain that Nigeria won't be in Qatar.

Jose Peseiro's statement

The Super Eagles manager said that while Ghana are a good national team, the players showed in both games of the play-offs that Nigeria was better.

"The result is just what it is. Nigeria played better than Ghana in the play-offs and deserve to be in Qatar," he added.

Paul Onuachu scores 13th goal

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu continued his scoring performances for Genk this season, scoring his 13th goal of the season on Sunday, November 13.

The Nigerian star got the opener for his side in their 2-0 win at Anderlecht, making his eighth appearance so far this term for the Belgian giants.

He scored in the 19th minute, lashing the ball into the bottom right corner after Daniel Munoz squared a simple pass to his feet. The goal came just a minute after the Nigeria international had missed a golden chance.
