Costa Rica got off to a good start as they returned to winning ways, with their friendly against South Korea in September ending in a 2-2 draw.

For the Super Eagles however, it is now a third consecutive defeat.

The Super Eagles squad for the encounter was dominated by home-based players, as assistant coach Salisu Yusuf led 18 players to San Jose.

Up next for Nigeria is another friendly game against Portugal, a team who will also feature in this year’s World Cup.

Nigeria set for Portugal clash

Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that Nigeria will file out against Portugal in an international friendly on November 17, and captain Ahmed Musa will be available.

The Super Eagles' most-capped player returned to action for his Turkish club in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Having recovered from an arm injury, Musa came on as a 76th-minute substitute in Sivasspor's final group game. His team played to a 1-1 draw with Slavia Praha of the Czech Republic on Thursday night.
