Former England International John Fashanu Makes Big Revelation on Nigeria’s Failure To Qualify for World Cup

Former England international John Fashanu has stated clearly that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be boring due to the inability of the Super Eagles of Nigeria to qualify for the competition.

Nigeria, who are three-time African champions lost the chance to go to Qatar after losing the play-offs against Ghana as the Black Stars qualified on an away goal rule.

Many Nigerians are still angry with the fact that Nigeria failed to pick the World Cup ticket, and that even resulted in the NFF chiefs firing former coach Austin Eguavoen.

Jose Peseiro is the new man in charge of the Super Eagles and the Portuguese is planning towards ensuring that Nigeria qualify for the next African Cup of Nations.

According to the report on GOAL, Fashanu who is of Nigerian descent claimed that it was not good enough for Nigeria not to qualify.

John Fashanu's statement

“I think this it is a disaster that Nigeria failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar and I also believe it is not just a disaster for the country but also for Africa majorly for the three-time African champions.
“With the Super Eagles you always have confidence heading into a game and I remember back then fans will smile before a game because they knew they (Eagles) were going to win by 3-0, but now things have changed.''

Super Eagles players shine

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria have been spotted exercising their final training ahead of their international friendly encounter against the national team of Costa Rica.

The friendly encounter will be played on Thursday morning, 10 November, at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica starting by 3am Nigerian time.

Head coach of the Super Eagles Jose Peseiro is not available for this game as his assistant Salisu Yusuf has been given the responsibility of making Nigerians proud in this game.

Three-time African champions want to use their coming two international friendlies to prepare for the AFCON qualifying game against Serie Leone.
