Super Eagles Coach Jose Peseiro Owed Massive N184M by the NFF Chiefs

• The Nigerian Football Federation has reportedly not paid Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro for the last six months
• Peseiro started work officially as Nigeria coach in May 2022 to replac former international Augustine Eguavoen
• The former coach of Venezuela is reported to be on a monthly pay stipend of $70,000 as the Super Eagles gaffer

Jose Peseiro, who is the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, is reportedly being owed the sum of ₦184,107,000 (approximately $420,000) as the Portuguese has not gotten salary for the past six months.

62-year-old Peseiro was hired by the former Nigerian Football Federation board under Amaju Pinnick after the last African Cup of Nations, where Super Eagles were sent out in the knockout stages.

It was former Nigeria international Augustine Eguavoen who steered the Super Eagles to Cameroon for AFCON, and he was also given the chance to be in charge of the World Cup play-offs against Ghana.

After his failure to pick up the World Cup ticket, the NFF chiefs ordered him to leave and asked Peseiro to take over.

When was Peseiro appointed?

Peseiro got his letter of appointment as the Super Eagles coach in May 2022, and according to the report on Score Nigeria, the Portuguese has not been paid.

The NFF chiefs who appointed Peseiro have since left office, as a new board under Ibrahim Gusau took over.

Peseiro is said to be on a monthly pay of $70,000.
