Lookman scores wonder goal as Atalanta beat Fiorentina in big Serie A battle

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was the hero on Sunday night, 2 October, as the Nigerian scored the winning goal for Atalanta in their 1-0 Serie A win over Fiorentina.

Lookman and his teammates continued with their commanding form so far this season in the Italian league. They are currently occupying second position on the table with 20 points after 8 games.

Napoli, who are topping the league table with 20 points as well, are ahead with a goal difference of plus-12 while Atalanta have plus-9.

The win for Lookman and his teammates over Fiorentina did not come easy, as they settled for a goalless draw in the first half in what was a challenging duel.

The Nigerian fired past goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano through an assist by Luis Muriel in the 59th minute. That ended up given Atalanta the win.

Speaking to Sports Brief about the goal scored by Lookman, Super Eagles Team Administrator, Dayo Enebi hailed the striker. He stressed that coach Jose Peseiro was also happy with his effort.
