Guinea have lost the chance to host the 2025 African Cup of Nations as the Confederation of African Football chiefs felt they have not put up any good preparation for the tournament.

And this latest development has thrown the Nigerian Football Federation into the race as Amaju Pinnick who is the President of the body believes that his country can host the competition.

Amaju Pinnick who will be leaving office later this month stated clearly that he wants Nigeria to co-host the 2025 African Cup of Nations.

According to the report on Vanguard, the Confederation of African Football chiefs explained that they will later come up with new development on the nation that will host 2025 AFCON.

CAF's statement about 2025 AFCON

“The Executive Committee was unanimous that Guinea will not be ready to host the competition.

“The Executive Committee took a unanimous decision based on the report as submitted that the tournament be withdrawn from Guinea.
“The President suggested that a delegation be sent to Guinea to inform them of the decision taken by EXCO.''
