  • Moses Simon was on the score sheet in Nantes’ 3-1 win over hard-fighting Toulouse FC in Ligue 1
  • The Nigerian international sealed the win for his side in the 65th minute as Nantes claimed all three points
  • Simon has been linked with a number of English Premier League clubs, including Nottingham Forest and Leeds United

Nigerian international Moses Simon continued his impressive form for Nantes as he inspired their win over Toulouse during the weekend.

The winger was instrumental as they defeated their visitors 3-1, having started on the left flank in a 4-3-3 formation that saw him constantly cause havoc to the defence line of the opposition.

Sun News reports that it was Toulouse who broke the deadlock in the 15th minute after Zakaria Aboukhlal put the ball in the back of the net to silence the crowd.

Nantes were behind at the break 1-0, but they drew level with just five minutes into the second half as Simon whipped in a cross that was met by the head of Evann Guessand and that restored parity for the 2022 French Cup winners.

Ten minutes later, Nantes took the lead in a spectacular fashion when Evann and Mostafa Mohamed combined well to make it 2-1.

Super Eagles star Simon would go on to grab his second goal of the season in the 61st minute, following an assist from Mostafa Mohamed.

The Nigerian made way for Lohann Doucet in the 80th minute.

Moses Simon linked with Nottingham Forest

Meanwhile, Moses Simon has reportedly agreed to personal terms with newly-promoted English Premier League club Nottingham Forest.

It was gathered that the swift winger is looking to play in the English top-flight, where he will join international teammate Taiwo Awoniyi.

The 27-year-old has also been linked with other English teams, including Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United.

Osimhen not interested in Man Utd switch

Sports Brief earlier reported that the head coach at Italian club Napoli, Luciano Spalletti, has disclosed that Victor Osimhen will go nowhere this summer amid links with Manchester United.

Several reports claim the Nigerian international could be heading to Old Trafford as Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent is said to be working on a possible swap deal.

With United not qualifying for the Champions League, CR7 is said to be desperate to leave United and Napoli is a considered destination for the Portuguese.
