Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has stated clearly that he is looking forward to face his former club Liverpool in the Premier League this season after joining Nottingham Forest.

Taiwo Awoniyi made the move to Nottingham Forest before the start of the ongoing Premier League season and the Nigerian striker has so far scored one goal for his new side.

He made the move to Liverpool in 2015 from Imperial Soccer Academy after impressing at the 2013 Under 17 World Cup in Dubai, but Awoniyi was unable to play any game for the Reds.

In his six-year at Liverpool, he played on loan most especially in Germany before he finally made a return to the Premier League.

According to the report on GOAL, Taiwo Awoniyi explained that he can't wait to face Liverpool in the Premier League.

Taiwo Awoniyi's reaction about facing Liverpool

“For me to be honest, I’ll say Liverpool because I’ve been there before. I know some of the players there. I’d be very excited to play against them.
“I would pick Jay Jay Okocha, assuming he’s still able to play because he’s one of the best players in the world for me. I just watched his clips on YouTube. I was in Germany and they showed me the goal he scored against Oliver Kahn.''
