Former Nigerian international Jay-Jay Okocha dazzled during a testimonial match back in 2016 to a point that Cameroonian legend Samuel Eto’o called on the opposing bench to replace the master dribbler.

Jay-Jay, who was given the moniker ‘so good they named him twice’, had a remarkable career as he featured for Fenerbahce, Paris Saint-Germain and English club Bolton Wanderers.

He was part of Sam Allardyce’s team between 2002 and 2006 and the pair recently reunited to recreate a dancing celebration.

The former Super Eagles captain, who was 42 at the time, featured in Joseph Yobo's testimonial and he impressed so much that the opponents had to call for him to be replaced.

SPORTbible reports that John Terry, Kolo Toure, Yaya Toure, Aaron Mokoena, Kanu Nwankwo, Andre Ayew were involved in the game alongside Eto’o and Okocha.

On the other hand, Yobo was part of his XI against Super Eagles XI as David Moyes was in charge of the team, having managed the former Nigerian defender at Everton.

It was a star-studded encounter, but Okocha clearly stole the show making fools out of the opposition with all his tricks and flicks.

The opponents could barely contain him and in the 23rd minute, Eto'o was begging for him to come off the pitch, not bad for a man who hadn't played for the previous six years.

Okocha gets recognition from Fifa

Meanwhile, the world’s football governing body Fifa shared a clip of Nigeria’s Jay-Jay Okocha during his prime at World Cup outings.

Fifa recalls Okocha’s legendary status with a video showing his magical dribbling skills during the 2002 World Cup hosted by Korea and Japan.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt superstar dazzled in the group stage of the competition as Nigeria were drawn against Argentina, Sweden, and England.

The coach who discovered Abedi Pele gets huge recognition

Sports Brief earlier reported that Herbert Adika, the man who discovered arguably the greatest Ghanaian footballer of all time, Abedi Pele, has been honoured at the Ghana Football Awards.

The man who is now blind, exposed Abedi Pele to football in the early seventies as he went on to become a global icon.

The Ghana Football Awards honoured him with a citation recognizing his role in unearthing the three times African Player of the Year.
