Tears of Joy: Super Eagles Star Goes Emotional While Signing Contract With English Premier League Club

Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi will play in the English Premier League next season after he signed for newly promoted side Nottingham Forest and it got him emotional.

The Nigerian international could not hide how he felt during the official signing as he seemed to shed tears of joy upon such a historical moment of his career.

BBC Sport reports that the 24-year-old former Liverpool star penned a five-year deal with the club for £17million.

Awoniyi scored 20 goals in 43 appearances for German side Union Berlin last season and he is now the first signing of Nottingham Forest following the club’s return to the English topflight.

Awoniyi said, as per MSN:

"It's always been my dream to play in the Premier League.
"Having spoken to [Forest boss] Steve Cooper about our ambitions and looking at Forest, with its great history, it's a club that I want to be part of."

Forest manager Cooper, in his reaction, disclosed that the club had been on the trail of the Nigerian for some time now. Cooper said:

"There's been a lot of interest of Taiwo from other Premier League clubs, and other clubs across Europe, so we're delighted he's chosen Nottingham Forest.
"He's a player who we really believe in and we look forward to him going on to fulfil his potential and become a top Premier League striker with Nottingham Forest."

Osimhen hails Taiwo Awoniyi

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen has explained that he is happy about Taiwo Awoniyi's move to Premier League side Nottingham Forest claiming that the former Liverpool player should prove himself.

According to a report, Osimhen stated that Taiwo Awoniyi will still go higher in football.

Ahmed Musa donates N20,000 to 5000 people in Jos

Sports Brief earlier reported that Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa continues to support members of his community as the Fatih Karagumruk forward donated N20,000 each to about five thousand people in Jos.

Artisans including tailors, bean sellers, shoemakers and a host of other small business owners were supported with such amount by the Nigerian international.

Musa who is famous for helping the poor and sick, made this latest gesture when he personally handed the cash gift to the individuals.
