Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how former Super Eagles defensive midfielder Seyi Olofinjana was sacked as the technical sporting director at Swiss Super League side Grasshopper Club Zurich which came as a surprise.

Following the club's promotion to the first division in May 2021, Seyi Olofinjana was named as the sporting director, with those in charge of the side pleased with his working experience.

But just one year as sporting director, eggheads at Grasshopper Club Zurich decided to release the former Wolves and Kwara United midfielder.

The club's president Sky Sun made the announcement that Seyi Olofinjana has been fired.

Meanwhile, Grasshoppers finished 8th in the Swiss elite league last season.
