Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Dennis has thanked Ahmed Musa for the opportunity to score his debut goal for Nigeria as the 3-time Africa champions thrashed Sao Tome 10-0 on Tuesday, June 13.

The 24-year-old striker scored from the penalty spot in the 92nd minute after coming on as a substitute in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier played in Morocco.

Dennis has now appreciated Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, who forfeited taking the penalty and offered it to the Watford striker to open his goal account for Nigeria.

“It has always been my dream to score for the Super Eagles and I also thank Musa for letting me play the penalty and I’m happy that I scored.
“The penalty was supposed to be for Musa and he gave it to me which I really appreciate from the big man”.

Emmanuel Dennis wrapped up the scoring for the Super Eagles after goals from four goals from Victor Osimhen, a brace from Terrem Moffi, and one apiece from Moses Simon, Oghenekaro Etebo, and Ademola Lookman.

Peseiro hails massive Super Eagles win

Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro is feeling proud about Nigeria’s impressive 10-0 victory against Sao Tome and Principe in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Portuguese manager hailed the Super Eagles players for the massive victory but emphasized that getting all three points was more important for the team's Complete Sports reports.

Peseiro wished he could have more time to train with the Super Eagles players as he says there are improvements that he and his crew still need to input into the team.

Super Eagles destroy African opponents 10-0 in AFCON qualifiers

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Super Eagles of Nigeria on Monday afternoon, 13 June, continued with their impressive performance in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers beating Sao Tome and Principe 10-0.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen was the hero of the day as the big player scored four goals for the Super Eagles in this encounter.

Having defeated Sierra Leone 2-1 in their first AFCON qualifying game in Abuja, Super Eagles players travelled to Morocco with boosted morale to face Sao Tome and Principe.
