Former Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr Claims Nigerian Superstar Is One of the Best Dribblers in Europe

Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has branded Nigeria’s Samuel Kalu as one of the best dribblers in Europe at the moment.

In a chat with AquiTele via Girondins4ever, Rohr rated the 24-year-old high when it comes to dazzling skills in the middle of the pack during a match.

Rohr also disclosed that Kalu, who has not been in great form in recent times, has not played under coaches who believe in him.

The Franco-Germain tactician said:

“But Samuel Kalu was an excellent dribbler, one of the best dribblers in Europe. He had impressive dribbling stats. I think that, unfortunately, they didn’t know.
“There were also a lot of coaches. Kalu had still played quite a bit with Paulo Sousa at one point; then, I saw some good matches with Jean-Louis Gasset.
“Then there was no longer that confidence, he needed to make a difference. He’s a sensitive player.”

Etebo returns to Stoke City

Meanwhile, Oghenekaro Etebo will be heading back to Stoke City next season after the Super Eagles midfielder was released by the Hornets.

Etebo joined Watford on loan from the English Championship club at the beginning of last season but only managed to feature 10 times for the Hornets after battling with injuries.

Watford in a statement, confirmed Etebo was released alongside 5 other players following their relegation from the English Premier League.

Ahmed Musa bags Humanitarian of the Year Award

Sports Brief earlier reported that Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has been recognised for his charity works over the years as the forward bags the Humanitarian of the Year award.

The fourth edition of The Ballers Awards, which was held on Sunday, 12 June in Lagos saw the Fatih Karagumruk forward bag the award in style.

Over the years, Musa have been involved in a number of charity works as he recently donated N2million to former defender Kingsley Obiekwu who raised the alarm that he was struggling.
