The Super Eagles definitely know how to celebrate a victory in style after players of the team were rewarded handsomely after the win against Sierra Leone.

Goals for Everton’s Alex Iwobi and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen propelled the Super Eagles to a 2-1 victory against the Leone Stars despite going a goal down at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

The win earned the Super Eagles their first victory in five games and the team were rewarded with a special Nigerian meal of Eba and vegetable soup.

Leon Balogun, Emmanuel Dennis, Alex Iwobi were amongst the top Super Eagles stars who took part in the team’s dinner as the players enjoyed a nice time together.

Nigeria will continue their 2023 AFCON qualifiers journey when they travel to Morocco on June 13 to tackle Sao Tome and Principe who were recently reinstated into the competition by CAF following the dismissal of Mauritius.

Sierra Leone captain reveals his team’s fault against Nigeria

Meanwhile, Sierra Leone captain, Steven Caulker says the Leone Stars gave too much respect to the Super Eagles in their 2-1 loss to Nigeria Complete Sports reports.

The Leone Stars had taken a surprise 1-0 lead in the 11th minute through Jonathan Morsay after he headed in superbly following a swift counter-attack.

Sierra Leone however could not hold to the lead as they conceded two goals in the space of 25 minutes to lose their opening 2023 AFCON qualifier.

Super Eagles get unexpected welcome at team’s hotel

Earlier, Sports Brief reported the Super Eagles players were given a rousing welcome by the staff of the team’s hotel after they showed discipline to earn a win against Sierra Leone in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Jose Peseiro earned his first win as Nigeria coach after goals from Alex Iwobi and Victor Osimhen helped the Super Eagles battle from a goal down to defeat the Leone Stars in Abuja.

The players were greeted with loud cheers from the staff of the team’s hotel, who made a guard of honour to welcome the team after the game.
