Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has been named the Best Young Player of the 2021-22 Season in Serie A beating Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao.

Despite missing two months of action for Napoli due to facial injury, Victor Osimhen was still able to score 14 goals in 26 games for the Italian giants which was a good record.

Victor Osimhen's superb performances this season for Napoli in all competitions has made him a target for many clubs in Europe most especially in the Premier League.

Clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and even Tottenham are said to be interested in the signature of Victor Osimhen.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how English Premier League club Manchester United are monitoring Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as incoming manager Erik Ten Hag is set to embark on his first transfer for the Red Devils.

He could land the Nigerian as his first signing as United continue their search for a lethal striker amid concerns over the uncertain future of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Nation reports that the Dutch tactician has notified the Manchester United board that he wants a new striker at all costs when the summer transfer window opens.

Further reports say that Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial are all expected to depart Old Trafford in the next few months.

And United are among the number of clubs chasing the Nigerian international who has notched in 18 goals for Napoli this season in all competitions.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport as per Evening Standard claims Man Utd have already made an ‘approach’ for the Nigerian international this summer, while fellow Italian outlet La Repubblica says United are leading the way for his signature.
