Alex Iwobi is enjoying playing football once again as the Super Eagles midfielder is considered as one of the key players at the English Premier League club, Everton.

Iwobi who has witnessed an upturn in his club form has now credited current Everton manager, Frank Lampard for his latest rise in form.

According to a report via Soccernet, after a private conversation with Everton boss Lampard, the former Arsenal winger believes he has persuaded Lampard in words and actions that he can do a good job in central midfield.

“It is where I grew up playing; I like to get on the half-turn, get the ball forward. I am always trying to play to the attacking players and make something happen.
“When I play infield, I get on the ball more and can take it up the pitch. I told him I’d played there for Arsenal but not had the opportunity at Everton.”

Everton enhanced their relegation survival chances by beating Chelsea 1-0 at Goodison Park over the weekend, with Iwobi playing as a right-wing-back.

Iwobi celebrates 26th birthday in style

Meanwhile, Alex Iwobi is having as much good time off the football pitch as he is having on it lately with Everton.

According to Pulse Sports, the Super Eagles midfielder celebrated his 26th birthday on Tuesday, May 3rd with family and friends present.

Iwobi was also celebrated on social media by his Premier League team Everton and the Nigeria Football Federation, which is run by Amaju Pinnick.

Iwobi confident Everton will escape relegation

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi is enjoying his current time at Everton despite the club’s struggles.

Iwobi has managed to be a regular starter under Frank Lampard and he is relishing every moment of it. Everton are faced with the grim prospect of dropping down to the Championship next season.

The Toffees are currently number 18 with 29 points. They are two points shy of Burnley in the 17th spot. The only glimmer of hope is that they have played a game less than their direct rivals.
