Hundreds of fans in Lagos were on Sunday, 12 April, entertained by Nigerian famous musician Davido who captained the likes of Okocha, Daniel Amokachi, Taribo West and others against Clarence Seedorf's led team.

The friendly encounter was in the Heineken’s UEFA Champions League trophy tour in which the organizers took the prestigious crown to Lagos.

Davido was not the only Afrobeat star who featured in this game as Darey, MI Abaga also played in the same team with the Super Eagles legends.

According to the report on Globaltime, Davido impressed on the pitch against Clarence Seedorf's side and even almost scored a goal after being set up by Austin Okocha.

What was the result of the friendly encounter?

There was no goal scored in the friendly match, but fans were entertained seeing the likes of Okocha, Amokachi and Davido playing football together on the pitch.

Who is Clarence Seedorf?

Clarence Seedorf is considered one of the most successful players in UEFA Champions League history, as he is the first, and currently the only player to have won the Champions League with three clubs.

The 46-year-old won the Champions League title with Ajax, Real Madrid and twice with AC Milan.

Super Eagles to face tough opponents in international friendly as NFF discloses date and venue

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) chiefs confirmed that the Super Eagles will face Mexico national team on 28 May in an international friendly match to serve as preparation for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

The football ruling body in Nigeria disclosed that the friendly encounter between the Super Eagles and Mexico national team will be played at the AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas.

Although the NFF chiefs have tendered an apology for the country's failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but many Nigerians are still pained that the Super Eagles won't appear in the prestigious tournament.

Coach Eguavoen who was in charge of the Super Eagles forced the Black Stars of Ghana to goalless draw in the first leg of the play-offs, but played 1-1 in the return fixture in Abuja.
