According to a report via Soccernet, Ecuador has disclosed they will be playing the Super Eagles alongside four other countries in June.

Mexico, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Tunisia are the four other countries the North Americans have lined up to help in their preparations for the upcoming World Cup tournament.

This will be the second time Nigeria will be playing Ecuador in history as both nations first played in 2004 in Abuja with the Super Eagles winning 4-3 via penalties.

Chukunyere blames weather for Nigeria’s failure

Meanwhile, most Nigerians have still not gotten over the shock of the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

According to Goal, former Nigeria striker, Ndubisi Chukunyere alleges that the Super Eagles' desire to defeat Ghana was thwarted by 'tough' weather conditions in Abuja.

Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by the Black Stars of Ghana in Abuja and were knocked out of the World Cup race on the away goals rule having played goalless in the first-leg fixture in Kumasi.

Mexico line up Super Eagles friendly

Earlier, Sports Brief reported the Super Eagles of Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, but reports claim Mexico wants a friendly match with the African side.

Mexico are organizing a friendly match with Nigeria as part of their preparations for the tournament slated for Qatar in November.

While El Tri qualified for the Mundial alongside the United States of America and Canada from North America, the Super Eagles failed to make their seventh appearance at the planet’s biggest football fiesta.
