Mikel Agu is now a bonafide citizen of Portugal after he was officially cleared and handed their international passport, Pulse, GidiTraffic .
The Nigerian international has played in the Portuguese league since joining top Premier Liga side FC Porto team B in 2012.
Having spent up to ten years in the European nation, the defensive midfielder has been given the all clear to have equal rights as a citizen.

Agu currently plies his trade with Vitoria Guimaraes having played for Porto, and had loans spells Vitoria Setubal twice, Club Brugge and Turkish side Bursaspor.
The 27-year-old made his debut for the Super Eagles against Togo in 2017 and played a part in Nigeria's qualification process to the 2018 World Cup.
He named in the 30-man squad for the competition but was dropped when Gernot Rohr released his final 23. He made seven appearances in the green and white colours in total.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that It's nine years since one of Nigeria's most prolific strikers Rashidi Yekini passed on and his former teammate Patrick Pascal has expressed that the forward made a huge impact in the game.
The 1993 African Footballer of the Year played seven tournaments for Nigeria and scored 37 goals in all competitions.
Yekini became the first Nigeria to score a World Cup goal at the 1994 tournament held in the United States.
And Pascal believes the former Vitoria Setubal star has done enough to earn in himself in history of Nigerian football and Africa at large.
Legit.ng had also reported that Simy Nwankwo once attempted to exchange shirts with Cristiano Ronaldo after Juventus played Crotone in Serie A but the Portuguese snubbed the Nigerian striker, Complete Sports.
Instead, Ronaldo decided to give his fellow countryman Pedro Pereira who is currently on loan at Crotone from Sampdoria.
The Nigerian striker was displeased with the gesture but he hopes he would have the opportunity to swap shirts with Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski in the future.
