The expression on the faces of most of the players was a mixture of fear and bewilderment which has sparked outcry back home in Nigeria.

A fan wrote:

“If this picture had surfaced anywhere in Nigeria Airport, the children of perdition would have called UN, US and GB on how Buhari had looted their blood, converted it to money and stashed it away in Swiss banks.

A Ghanaian replied:

“If we insisted you drop at Accra and take Bus to Kumasi you would have shouted for the whole world to hear you. Accra to Kumasi is 7 hours journey be grateful Kumasi Airport is not a standard one.”
