  • Jay Jay Okocha and some of his colleagues have been blasted by Omoyele Sowore who claimed the ex-Super Eagles stars visited Bola Tinubu
  • According to the founder and publisher of Sahara Reporters, the former footballers have endorsed the APC chieftain to become the president of Nigeria

Presidential hopeful Omoyele Sowore has lambasted ex-Super Eagles player for ‘endorsing’ APC chieftain Bola Tinubu who is also vying for the post of president of Nigeria.

The 2023 general elections are beginning to garner momentum as candidates continue to announce their intention to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu has never hidden his intention to become the president of Nigeria and only recently it was gathered that a number of former Super Eagles players will play a novelty match on his behalf.

Earlier reports say a number of former Super Eagles players including Jay Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo will hit Lagos for a novelty match in honour of APC chieftain Bola Tinubu.

The former governor of Lagos state will clock 70 on March 29 and a number of activities have been lined up leading to the D-Day.

Ex-internationals like Garba Lawal, Julius Aghahowa, Victor Ikpeba, Uche Okechukwu, Ifeanyi Udeze, Taribo West, Victor Agali, Ike Shorunmu, Victor Ezeji, Obafemi Abiodun, Dosu Joseph, Jonathan are all expected.

The match between Ex-Super Eagles International Players and the Asiwaju Team will take place at Onikan Stadium Lagos on March 20, 2022.

And 24-hours before the charity game, the players were spotted with the politician, which infuriated Omoyele Sowore who also recently declared his intention to run for the position of president of the country.

The Sahara Reporters founder wrote:

“Hunger is a bast**d! JJ Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Victor Ikpeba, Taribo West, and other ex-Euper Eagles players paid Tinubu a visit today to endorse him..! I used to think Victor Ikpeba was a smart person!
“Shame on these ex-soccer Super Eagles players! Imagine sending them to play for Nigeria as a team to the World Cup after they've expired?”

Reports claim Bola Tinubu owns shares at Man Utd

Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that in a bid to defend his boss over his source of wealth, Abdulmumin Jibrin who is the director-general of the Tinubu Support Management Council disclosed that the presidential hopeful has shares with Manchester United.

Jibrin, who was a guest on a program on TVC, further stated that Bola Tinubu also has sizable shares with tech giants Apple.

Jibrin joined the program ‘Journalists Hangout’ via zoom anchored by Babajide Kolade-Otitoju and shared the information.
