Sevilla who are Spanish La Liga club are reportedly interested in the signing of Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq who currently plays for Almeria and has been superb so far this season.

Premier League side Newcastle United and Barcelona have also been linked with a move to sign the Super Eagles striker when the ongoing League season comes to an end.

Sevilla are currently occupying second position on the Spanish La Liga table and are hoping they would qualify for next season's Champions League.

According to the report on Soccernet and Soccernews, Almeria chiefs are ready to sell Sadiq Umar in the summer but the club interested must be able to pay N9 billion.

How many goals has Sadiq Umar score this season for Almeria?

Sadiq Umar has made 22 starts and two substitute appearances in the Segunda Division for Almeria so far this season scoring 13 goals in the process.

His performances also helped him to make the Super Eagles squad that went to Cameroon for the 2021 African Cup of Nations netting one goal as Nigeria crashed out in the knockout.

Super Eagles of Nigeria are expected to be in action this month (March) for the 2022 final World Cup playoffs against Ghana which will be two-legged.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Tijani Babangida urged Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen to get the right strikers for the two coming games against the Black Stars of Ghana this month which will be tough.

Super Eagles of Nigeria will go head to head with Ghana in the 2022 final World Cup playoffs with the aim of qualifying for the big tournament which will hold this year in Qatar.

The Black Stars of Ghana will be hosting the first leg of the match on 25 March at the Cape Coast stadium before the return leg at the National stadium in Abuja four days later.

Crashing out in the knockout stages at the 2021 African Cup of Nations, Super Eagles would want to qualify for the 2022 World Cup so as to make Nigerians happy.
