  • Ahmed Musa who captains the current Super Eagles has been named in the team for the last decade by Nigerian outlet Complete Sports
  • Musa who was part of the Super Eagles squad that conquered the continent in 2013 to win the AFCON title is Nigeria’s most capped player
  • Legendary goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was included in the list which has former captain Mikel Obi as well as Ogenyi Onazi

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are one foot away from qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but Nigerian outlet Complete Sports have named the best players for the last decade.

Against all odds, Nigeria conquered the African continent in 2013 winning the coveted AFCON title for a third time under the tutelage of Stephen Keshi who is now late.

Nigeria boast the likes of Joseph Yobo, Efe Ambrose, Ahmed Musa who all fought at the tournament in South Africa to return home with the title.

Arguably one of the safest pair of hands for Nigeria remains Vincent Enyeama who was also part of the team to the continental showpiece.

The last decade witnessed the good, the bad and the ugly for the Nigerian national team, but here, Complete Sports name the team of the last decade (2010-2019)

Victor Moses on the score sheet for Spartak Moscow

Meanwhile, Spartak Moscow managed to secure all three points against Akhmat Grozny as former Nigerian international Victor Moses was also on the score sheet.

The ex-Super Eagles playmaker opened his goal-scoring account of the season during their 2-1 win over the Serbian side on Saturday evening.

Moses seems to be in the form of his life at the moment, but he should have scored at least two goals in the encounter.

He rediscovered his form under manager Rui Vitoria as they played the encounter with 10-men for about an hour of the match.

Finidi George names two most successful players

Sports Brief earlier reported that Finidi George is one of Nigeria's most successful players in Europe but the former Ajax legend has not been regarded as the most successful.

He won the Champions League trophy with the Amsterdam giants back in 1996 making him the first player from the country to do so.

The former Real Betis and Mallorca star believes himself and Austin Okocha contributed to their respective teams more than any other Nigerian players that plied their trade in Europe.
