Newcastle United are currently targeting Super Eagles left-back Zaidu Sanusi as the Premier League club aims to start rebuilding its team ahead of next season.

The Magpies are presently battling with relegation in the English top-flight but have already started preparations for the 2022/23 season.

According to a report via Soccernet, Newcastle United has now added the 2.9billion Naira valued Zaidu Sanusi to their list of targets.

Zaidu Sanusi presently plays for FC Porto in Portugal and has been the first choice left-back since he joined the Portuguese club three years ago.

The Super Eagles defender who still has three years on his current contract with Porto will battle for a starting shirt with current Magpies defenders Matt Ritchie, Matt Target, and Paul Dummet.

Newcastle United dealt huge blow in pursuit of Eberechi Eze

Meanwhile, Newcastle United has been seemingly rejected by Nigerian-born English International, Eberechi Eze as the winger has revealed he is content playing for Crystal Palace.

According to a report via The Hard Tackle, Newcastle United are among the clubs keen on securing the services of the Crystal Palace playmaker, with the Magpies reportedly readying a £45m deal for the winger.

Eberechi Eze however has dispelled any rumors linking him with a move away from the London club as he disclosed he is happy with life at Crystal Palace and will not be seeking a move away.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has disclosed that he could remain at Leicester City for some time as his family members are also in the city.

The 25-year-old who has been impressive in the middle of the pack for the Foxes has attracted interest from quite a number of top teams across Europe.

He hinted that he could remain at the King Power Stadium beyond this season despite that big teams across the continent are jostling for his signature.
