Nigeria's campaign at the ongoing 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon came to an end on Sunday night, January 23, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Tunisia in the round of 16.

Going into this game against the North Africans, Super Eagles players won their first three games at the competition and Nigerians were expecting them to soar in the knockout.

However, Augustine Eguavoen and his wards found it so difficult to break the defense of the Tunisians in what was a tough encounter for the Super Eagles.

How did the first half between the Super Eagles and Tunisia end?

Despite all efforts to find the back of the net in the first half, Super Eagles were unable to score against Tunisia as the first half ended goalless.

What then happened in the second half?

Naira Marley cries out as Tunisia knock Nigeria out of AFCON

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian music sensation Naira Marley expressed disappointment following Nigeria’s loss to Tunisia in the Round of 16 of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.

The Carthage Eagles who reached the knockout phase of the competition as one of the best losers from the group stage, put up an impressive performance to defeat one of the tournament favourites.

The only goal of the encounter came in the 46th minute when Youssef Msakni found space and unleashed the screamer beyond hapless goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.

Nigeria played most parts of the second half with 10 men after Alex Iwobi was sent off following a dangerous tackle.

Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the loss as many had tipped the team to go all the way to the final of the tournament.
