Picture this: your team is trailing in a major cup semi-final by one goal and in an attempt to prevent it from getting worse, you get red-carded. And as you walk off the pitch, you get mocked by an opponent player.
Southampton defender, Duje Ćaleta-Car had an evening to forget at the Saint Mary's Stadium after he was sent off for a second yellow card by referee, Stuart Attwell.
The Saints were playing the Magpies in the first Carabao Cup semi-final on January 24. Joelinton had given the visitors the lead in the 73rd minute, after seeing a goal ruled out for a handball just before half-time.
It was a game marked by the same defensive resoluteness seen from Eddie Howe's team this season, as Nick Pope stood firm in the Newcastle goal.
