Sevilla hopes to sign highly promising French defender Tanguy Nianzou from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich as the La Liga club tries to strengthen its squad.

Julen Lopetegui’s team suffered a shock opening day 2-1 loss to Osasuna in matchday 1 of the 2022/23 La Liga season.

According to Football Espana, Sevilla are now in advanced talks to sign Tanguy Nianzou with the La Liga club optimistic the deal for the 20-year-old can be wrapped up this week.

Tanguy Nianzou made 22 appearances for Bayern Munich last season after joining the Bavarians from French giants Paris Saint-Germain in 2020.

Sevilla are confident the French defender can come into the squad to fill up the void left by former players Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos who both left to join Barcelona and Aston Villa respectively.

Bayern Munich to include buy-back clause in Tanguy Nianzou deal

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are ready to part ways with French defender Tanguy Nianzou this summer as Sevilla look set to sign the 20-year-old star.

According to SB Nation, the Bundesliga champions are set to secure a buy-back option and a percentage of the sell-on fee, should the defender live up to his immense potential at Sevilla.

Tanguy Nianzou is unlikely to get game time at Bayern Munich this season as the squad includes top-rated stars such as the likes of Lucas Hernandez, Dayot Upamecano, and the newly-signed Matthijs de Ligt.

Osasuna stun Sevilla in La Liga season opener

Earlier, Sports Brief reported the Spanish Primera Division is up and running as Osasuna recorded a 2-1 victory at home over Sevilla in the opening match of the 2022/23 La Liga season.

A 74th-minute penalty expertly converted by Aimar Oroz handed the Los Rojillos the maximum three points in front of their fans at Estadio El Sadar on Friday night.

Osasuna started the game on the front foot as Ávila opened the scoring in the 9th minute after he nodded home a Rubén Peña cross.
