Sekhukhune United are getting preparations underway for the new season by welcoming new players.

The Gauteng-based club unveiled six new players today ahead of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.

Train Mokhabi, Elias Mokwana, Denwin Farmer, Abednego Mosiatlhaga, Tshegofatso Mntambo and Linda Mabasa were all unveiled by the club as the new coach, Kaitano Tembo, looks to rebuild the squad, iDiski Times confirmed.

The club themselves took to social media to welcome their new crop of players.

Three names that stand out among the signings are Tshegofatso Mabasa, Linda Mntambo and Denwin Farmer.

Farmer was previously with Baroka FC and will return to the DStv Premiership after the club’s relegation.

Mntambo joined the club on a free transfer and was one of the players released by Orlando Pirates. Mabasa also hails from Pirates and will make the move on a season-long loan. The 25-year-old striker has found opportunities difficult to come by at the Buccaneers.

Sekhukhune have had a productive transfer window thus far, already releasing 14 players from the club.

Kaizer Chiefs have done it again.

The Amakhosi have reportedly agreed on terms with another transfer target, this time from Sekhukhune United. The publication reported that Chiefs were negotiating for some time with Sekhukhune United for their club captain.

Sekhukhune are believed to have wanted R10 million for the Bafana player, but the two clubs are believed to have settled on a price of R6 million.

Sekhukhune United's Justin Shonga frustrates management, reports to training under the influence of alcohol

Justin Shonga is not doing himself any favours at Sekhukhune United.

The Zambian striker is reported to be on borrowed time at the club due to his off-field antics.

As reported by FARPost, Shonga has attended training under the influence of alcohol, just one of the few ways in which he has frustrated the management of the club. A source told the publication that Sekhukhune were now considering severing ties with Shonga.
