Premier Soccer League’s Sekhukhune United Unveil New Signings, Acquire Youngsters Who Starred at Phillys Games

  • Sekhukhune United also unveiled three other players alongside the youngsters who starred at the Phillys Games

The recent Phillys Games in Tembisa made news for its use of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and for having fans in the stadium.

The games also showcased some of the young talent that Mzansi has to offer and three of these youngsters have been signed by Premier Soccer League outfit Sekhukhune United as a result.

Soccer Laduma reported that the Sekhukhune United signed three youngsters who starred at the Phillys Games for Doornkop Students Academy. Kgothatso 'Billiat' Mathibe, (18), Slindile 'Neymar' Nhlapo (18) & Sibongiseni 'Thotho' Gabuza (20) were all signed up by the PSL side and will play in the DSTV Diski Challenge.

The youngsters representative Pontsho Madumo from Cream Sport Agency confirmed the news to Soccer Laduma.

"Those three players have completed moves to Sekhukhune. They were very impressed with them and I'm happy that they will now grow as footballers," he said.

Sekhukhune United also confirmed on their official Twitter account that they had signed three experienced players as well for the main team. Justin Shonga, LuckyBoy Mokoena and Evans Rusike were all unveiled as well.

Siphiwe Tshabalala has no plans to retire just yet, Former Kaizer Chiefs star is looking for a new club

In other PSL related news, former Bafana player and Kaizer Chiefs player Siphiwe Tshabalala may be 37-years-old but he has no plans of retiring anytime soon according to the player's agent Sports Brief earlier reported.

Tshabalala has been without a club since he was released by Amazulu before the start of the current Premier Soccer League (PSL) season. Tshabalala represented South Africa for 11 years IOL reported and his screamer against Mexico in the 2010 World Cup will always be a highlight for many Bafana fans.

Since his release from Amazulu, Tshabalala has not played a professional game leading many to believe that he had retired or was at least considering hanging up his boots. Speaking to KickOff his representative Jazzman Mahlakgane said that the former Kaizer Chiefs player had no thoughts about retiring anytime soon.
