Shauwn "MaMkhize" Mkhize Hurt by Fan Chants at Royal AM Match
- With the highs of football inevitably come the lows of football no matter who you are in The Beautiful Game
- Royal AM owner Shauwn Mkhize is experiencing this with life in the big lights of the Premier Soccer League
- MaMkhize's charges were soundly beaten by Maritzburg United in a KwaZulu-Natal derby last Sunday, which saw fans at the match mocking her
Someone once said that football will "kill you a real death".
Shauwn Mkhize continues to learn that the hard way as a club owner. After the highs of defeating KwaZulu-Natal rivals AmaZulu 2-0 the weekend before in a derby, another KZN rival Maritzburg United brought Thwihli Thwahla back down to earth with a 3-1 crash on Sunday.
As always, MaMkhize reflected lengthily on her Instagram page by writing:
"Yesterday, was a tough day on the field and like everyone, I’m also human. I’m not immune to loss. I don’t always get what I want, as some may think. I know how disheartening and painful it is to want something so badly and still fail at the chance to get it.

"The songs chanted at the stadium are not about the team's loss but about beating ‘Mamkhize’. It’s about breaking my spirit but I won’t let that happen. I’m a warrior and all I know to do is FIGHT. I may fall a dozen times but I will ALWAYS GET UP. If you want something, you must learn to push forward and fight for it. No matter how many times you fall, no matter how many songs they may sing about your demise. I WON'T LIE THOUGH, IT HIT ME HARD
"In times like these, I’m reminded of who I am. I am my mother's daughter, braver, more resilient and stronger than ever. I WILL NEVER GIVE UP AND I’m coming back STRONGER.
"For now, it’s back to the drawing board. #KZNDerby #ROYALAM #THWIHLITHWAHLA #Kwamamkhize #MyWorldMyRules"
Elephant plays with Siphiwe Tshabalala
Here is something you definitely don't see every day.
An elephant showed off more footballing technique than many of us could ever hope to possess. On the other side of the kickabout was none other than the legendary Siphiwe Tshabalala.
The Bafana Bafana legend shared a video on his Instagram of him and his wife Bokang Montjane having a ball of a time with the magnificent beast called Damara. Interestingly, the ball the trio was using is the famous Jabulani from the landmark 2010 FIFA World Cup that was hosted by South Africa, where "Shabba" scored one of the greatest goals in the tournament's 92-year history.
