Speaking to Andile Ncube on Sports Night Amplified, Mnisi suggested that there would be a story developing and encouraged listeners to ‘watch this space.’

The comments were quickly shut down by Solomons’ agent who said that he was never approached by Shauwn Mkhize’s side for the player’s services.

Kaizer Chiefs’ football manager, Bobby Motaung, also maintained the Amakhosi’s innocence in the matter, Goal.com reported.

Motaung added that Chiefs followed all the protocols and that if there was a problem, it was between Swallows and Royal AM.

The Citizen has now revealed that that might just be the case. The publication reported that Royal AM had an agreement to sign Solomons, Khethukuthula Ndlovu and Ruzaigh Gamildien, from Swallows.

They were waiting for the club president, Shauwn Mkhize, to return from overseas to finalise the deal, but it fell through when they could not produce the money in time. Chiefs then offered approximately the same amount for Solomons as Royal AM were offering for three players.

“They get to keep two players and get almost the same amount they would have got from the Royal AM where they would have also lost three players at once,” a source told the publication.
