  • Thwihli Thwahla is preparing for a monumental DStv Premiership match against Orlando Pirates which will go down in history should they defeat the Buccaneers

You can never keep Royal AM owner Shauwn Mkhize out of the headlines.

'MaMkhize' was spotted training with the senior team ahead of the club's crucial DStv Premiership match against Orlando Pirates tonight. Should Thwihli Thwahla emerge victorious, they will qualify for the CAF Champions League by virtue of finishing as the runners-up to Mamelodi Sundowns, a fine achievement for the top-flight debutants.

She said in a caption:

"Michael Jordan once said: “ Talent wins games but team work and intelligence wins championships”. We may not be number one but we are certainly working extremely hard to solidify a good position on the log.
"We’ve exceeded our expectations and are really proud of our achievements thus far but one thing about my boys, they will give it their all. Great morning training with them but now we look to tomorrow’s match and end things off the only way we know how to… with our best foot forward.
"P.S I kept up with the boys, who knows you might see me on the field of play next match."

It is not uncommon for the family to get involved in the on-field matters of the club. Mkhize's son Andile Mpisane, the youngest club chairperson in the history of South African football at the age of 19, made his debut for the club in 2021 as per Sports24.

Royal AM’s Andile Mpisane shows off his soccer skills, fans aren’t impressed with the chairman’s performance

Royal AM’s Andile Mpisane may be the youngest club chairperson in the Premier Soccer League, but fans aren’t impressed with his football skills.

As reported on Sports Brief, Mpisane took to the field this past weekend for Royal AM Reserves in the DStv Diski Challenge as they beat Stellenbosch by two goals to one. But it wasn’t the result that had people talking, it was Mpisane’s football skill.

A video shared to Twitter showing Mpisane trying an elaborate pass had fans laughing at the attempt.
