  • Nicolo Zaniolo’s situation at Roma is set to become a legal battle
  • The player is reportedly considering suing the club for alleged “psychological pressure” during the January transfer saga
  • He was close to joining Bournemouth on a £30million deal but everything fell through at the last minute

Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo is reportedly considering suing the club for subjecting him to “psychological pressure” during the January transfer window.

The Italian playmaker sensationally fell out with Jose Mourinho and was rumoured to be on his way to the Premier League, with Bournemouth and Leeds United both interested parties.

It almost looked like Bournemouth would take up the 23-year old’s services, but that ultimately did not happen, and with the winter transfer window closed, Zaniolo is set to remain a Giallorossi, at least until the end of the season.

According to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, per RomaPress, Zaniolo’s family is now angling towards contacting their lawyers as they believe the “media massacre” the midfielder is facing is Roma’s fault.

It was initially reported that Zaniolo was subjected to death threats from angry Roma fans after news initially broke out that he wanted to leave the Italian capital.

Roma allowed Zaniolo to travel to La Spezia for at least 48 hours over safety concerns.

The feud between player and club has also been extended to The Assocalciatori, a body that is specialized in addressing issues between a footballer and the team he plays for.

Zaniolo is yet to publicly comment on the collapsed move to Bournemouth, although it is believed he is waiting for Roma’s sporting director Tiago Pinto to issue a press conference firstly.

“He doesn’t want to train."

Only a few days ago, Mourinho had spoken openly about Zaniolo’s situation where he claimed the player refused to train with the team, as per Independent.co.uk.

“When a player tells you, the club and his teammates: ‘I don’t want to wear the Roma jersey, I don’t want to play, I don’t want to go back to training…’ I have to say unfortunately. The ideal situation is for the player to be happy. I said that I expected him to stay, but as things stand today, I have to add unfortunately to that sentence.” Mourinho said.

Mourinho’s workout routine after loss to Napoli

Sports Brief also reported on Jose Mourinho’s interesting workout routine which he displayed moments after losing to Napoli in the Serie A.

The Special One, who had already conceded the title race, saw his side come close to hold the Partenopei to a one-all draw at the Diego Maradona Stadium.

Taking to his Instagram account, Mourinho shared a video of the workout and hilariously captioned it:

"The staff are working out and I am doing it MY WAY."
