19-year-old Felix Afena-Gyan has told Ghanaians to 'believe' after the Black Stars were handed a tough draw at the FIFA World Cup.

Ghana have been placed in Group H alongside Portugal, former World champions Uruguay and Asian giants South Korea.

However, the AS Roma teen sensation is unfazed by the strength and quality of the opponents, taking to Twitter to send a message of hope.

"Believe," he wrote on Twitter with the photo of the team that secured qualification in Abuja.

Felix Afena-Gyan is expected to make the team to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar after playing a pivotal role in Ghana's qualification.

The youngster joined the team for the two-legged play-off against Nigeria, playing both home and away games as Thomas Partey's goal sent Ghana to the tournament in Qatar.

Ghana to face Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that four times African champions, Ghana have been drawn alongside European heavyweights Portugal, former World Champions Uruguay and South Korea.

The Black Stars will open their campaign at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with a blockbuster clash against Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal.

Ghana are appearing at the World Cup for the fourth time after missing the 2018 edition in Russia.

Afena-Gyan's journey from high school to the World Cup

Just a little over a year, Felix Afena-Gyan had no idea he was going to be playing in Europe and as a matter of fact, Italy. But 12 months down the lane, he is a star at AS Roma.

While in Ghana, he was just a school going boy with a passion for football and enormous talent and like many kids in Berekum, life was fun.

In an old video, which looks like it was taken a year ago, Afena-Gyan is seen dancing and enjoying himself at Berekum Presec and that has got many talking.
