  • Real Madrid are interested in both Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol
  • Los Blancos are keen on bolstering their squad with younger talents and are keen on both Bundesliga stars
  • Both Bellingham and Gvardiol starred for England and Croatia respectively at the 2022 FIFA World Cup

Real Madrid’s bid to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2023/24 season is facing a setback as their financial purse can only afford one of the two major targets.

The reigning La Liga champions are eyeing a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and RB Leipzig’s defender Josko Gvardiol when the summer transfer window opens.

Bellingham who has been on Real Madrid’s radar since before the 2022 FIFA World Cup is worth about a €100 million while Gvardiol has a release clause of a €112million that does not become active until 2024.

Both Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are keen on parting ways with their respective stars this summer. For the right price, a deal can be struck with Real Madrid.

Man United ready to battle for Bellingham

Meanwhile, Manchester United is ready to join the bidding for Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham, with the transfer fee set at a minimum of £110 million, The Telegraph reports.

The fee for the 19-year-old would be a British record, surpassing the £100 million paid by Manchester City for Jack Grealish, with negotiations over Bellingham's future finally beginning to heat up.

Man City, Liverpool, and Real Madrid are all interested in Bellingham, with Man United now registering their interest and Chelsea are not ruling out making an offer for the midfielder.

Bellingham advised to stay at Dortmund

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Stefan Effenberg believes the Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham would be better off staying with the Bundesliga side.

The 19-year-old England midfielder has been linked with a move away from the German side, with Real Madrid and Liverpool the frontrunners for his signature.

Dortmund are also keen to keep hold of their star player, and a club legend believes that it is in Bellingham's best interests to remain with the side for another season.
