Karim Benzema has taken a swipe at Didier Deschamps, referring to the France manager as a "liar" after he gave an interview about his World Cup injury.
The Real Madrid frontman sustained an injury to his left thigh during training which ruled him out of the Mundial.
After his injury, Benzema departed the team's hotel in Qatar soon afterwards, but his legal representative Karim Djaziri Djaziri reckoned the 35-year-old would have been fit for the knockout rounds of Les Bleus' World Cup campaign if he had stayed behind.
However, offering his version of the entire incident, Didier Deschamps revealed he did not compel the strike to leave camp. Rather it was Benzema's sole decision to leave.

What did Deschamps say?
In an interview with French outlet Le Parisien, Deschamps detailed what transpired between himself and Benzema.
"In every situation, there is only one truth, and Karim knows that. He joined us on November 14 after a period of semi-inactivity with his club," Deschamps said via GOAL.
"We stayed together for about twenty minutes. As I was leaving, I told him: 'Karim, there’s no rush, you can organise your return with the Team Manager'. When I woke up, I found out he had left. That’s his decision. He won’t say otherwise. I understand and respect it."
