Benzema has now surpassed Raul on the club's all-time goalscoring list in La Liga.

Raul, who was in second, scored 228 goals for the Spanish side while Benzema has now moved up to 230 goals.

Cristiano leads the way

Only Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored 311 times, has more goals for Los Blancos.

Into La Liga's top 5

While Benzema's brace took him into Madrid's second spot, it also saw him enter into the top five of La Liga's all-time goal-scoring charts. Lionel Messi currently leads that pack.

Hunting down Lewandowski's lead

Benzema is also closing down Robert Lewandowski on the La Liga goal-scoring charts. The Barcelona striker has 14 goals while Benzema now has 11.

Benzema: France's most decorated player

Karim Benzema is now the most decorated French player of all time after helping Real Madrid beat Al Hilal in the Club World Cup final on Saturday.

Los Blancos lifted the trophy for a record fifth time with a pulsating 5-3 win over the Saudi Arabian giants in Rabat, Morocco, Sports Brief reported.

Benzema was on target on his return from injury, while Vinicius Junior and Fede Valverde struck twice each in Madrid's spectacular victory over Al Hilal.
