Real Madrid star Rodrygo netted a sensational solo goal in his side's Copa del Rey quarter-final against Atletico Madrid.

The 22-year-old picked the ball from the centre and dribbled past multiple defenders before driving into the box, beating Jan Oblak with a cool strike at his near post.

The Brazilian star's mazy dribble left Axel Witsel on the floor, before Mario Hermoso also made a failed attempt to tackle the Brazilian.

Rodrygo left them all for DEAD!

This is just disgusting from Rodrygo. First has the awareness to allow the ball to roll, the agility to turn and accelerate into the box and then the composure inside the box.

@deejayfaremi tweetd:

Rodrygo’s goal though. So so good. Spectacular!

Real Madrid defeat Atletico Madrid

Two goals in extra time by Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior were enough to hand Real Madrid a 3-1 triumph over rivals Atletico Madrid on Thursday to reach the Copa del Rey semi finals, Marca reports.

The spiky, gripping derby clash turned against Diego Simeone's side in the additional period when defender Stefan Savic was sent off.

Atletico took the lead through Alvaro Morata after 19 minutes but Rodrygo's sensational solo run past three defenders and slick finish pulled Madrid level with 11 minutes remaining.

Ancelotti denies feud with Rodrygo

Meanwhile, Ancelotti has joked that Rodrygo forgot to shake his hand, after throwing a substitution strop in Real Madrid’s latest Copa del Rey outing, Goal reports.

The 22-year-old Brazilian snubbed the handshake of his manager, after he was substituted in the comeback victory against Villarreal on Thursday night.

The Real Madrid manager played down any rift with the forward after the game, despite being seen quarelling with the 22-year-old after the incident on the sidelines.

Ancelotti fumes at media

Carlo Ancelotti has blamed too many personal errors from his team as the reason why Real Madrid lost the Spanish Super Cup final to Barcelona.

Los Blancos were battered 3-1 by Barcelona in the final on Sunday night, with the Catalans claiming their first trophy under manager Xavi Hernandes.

Ancelotti has now refuted the claims that Real Madrid were humiliated by their arch-rivals, stating that it was just another game lost, Sports Brief reported.
