Luka Modric is seen as somewhat of a father figure at Real Madrid, and it's easy to see why. The veteran midfielder put aside his celebrations to console club teammate Rodrygo, after Brazil were beaten by Croatia at the World Cup.

Rodrygo had the Selecao's first penalty saved and the team were eventually beat 4-2 in the shootout. The 21-year-old Rodrygo was visibly distraught after the game, and Modric went over to console him.

The duo share an extremely close relationship, with Rodrygo explaining that he calls Modric father and the Croation captain calls him son.

Sport Bible previously reported that the father and son name calling started after Modric found out he was only a year older than the Brazilian's father. Speaking after the game, Modric also had futher comforting words for his teammate.
