Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has named Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the greatest strikers he has worked with during his record-breaking career.

Ancelotti worked with the Portuguese captain at Santiago Bernabeu for two years, between 2013 and 2015, winning the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.

Ronaldo notched 112 goals in 101 outings under Ancelotti's tutelage and won the Ballon d'Or in the process.

However, there was no place for Brazilian legend Ronaldo de Lima, if the list is anything to go by.

Speaking on Italian television show Che Tempo Fa, per Madrid XTRA, Ancelotti said:

"Best forward I have ever coached. Too many... Cristiano Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Drogba, Benzema, Vinicius."

Ancelotti worked alongside Ronaldo de Lima at AC Milan during the 2007/08 season, and the two-time World Cup winner is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

Ancelotti wants Vinicius Junior protected

Carlo Ancelotti has come to the defence of Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Junior, after the Brazilian forward was tagged as provocative due to his style of play.

Vini Jnr has been one of Los Blancos’ standout players this season, but the 22-year-old has been heavily vilified for his goal celebrations and taunting of opponents.

According to Marca, Ancelotti has admitted to Vinicius’ provocative nature, but has called for the Brazilian to be respected as he receives more slaps and fouls than anyone else.

Real Madrid players get BMW gift

Real Madrid’s superstars are going to be driving in style, thanks to BMW, Sports Brief has reported.

The Spanish side agreed on a sponsorship deal with the German car manufacturer and have benefitted richly as a result.

As reported by the Daily Mail, each player and staff member received a free electric vehicle worth up to €124 980. Players and staff were allowed to choose their own model, between the iX and the i4, and also their own colour of the vehicle.
