  • Karim Benzema has had an incredible past few seasons for Real Madrid and is a valuable member of the team
  • Madrid have been without the services of Benzema for the past few games, and they have not fared well
  • Guti, a legend at the Spanish club, believes that Benzema is not thinking about the club at the moment

Karim Benzema is one of Real Madrid’s golden boys, but not everyone associated with the club is a fan.

The club have only won one game in their last four in all competitions, and one of the reasons is the absence of Benzema up front.

The French striker has been suffering from injuries of late and has been rested out of precaution.

As noted by The Real Champs, Benzema does not want to risk his place at the World Cup and is rather taking it easy at Madrid, so as to avoid picking up any injuries before the tournament begins.

After suffering problems with his knee and muscular issues, he has been unavailable. This attitude hasn’t sat well with everyone at Madrid.

SportBible reported that club legend, Guti, is not happy with Benzema’s continued absence and doesn’t believe Ancelotti’s version that he has been injured.

"Benzema's situation? I don't understand him. Messi is playing with PSG, Lewandowski is playing with Barcelona, and so many other players. You have to accept the risk of injuries before the World Cup. You can't let your club down,” he said.

Guti also questioned why his former side didn’t have a replacement signed, knowing that Benzema would pick up injuries at some stage.

Mbappe, Benzema lead France’s squad

Manager of the French national team, Didier Deschamps has officially unveiled his list of players that will defend the World Cup title in Qatar.

As expected, Les Bleus' squad is star-studded, with top talents like Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema and Antoine Griezmann headlining the squad.

Sports Brief reported that France beat Croatia in Russia's 2018 World Cup final, and will be hoping lightning can strike twice in Qatar.
