Wales international Gareth Bale scored a wonderful solo goal to help Los Angeles FC defeat Real Salt Lake 4-1 on Saturday evening in the Major League Soccer.

The 33-year-old joined the MLS club following his exit from Real Madrid after spending nine years at the Santiago Bernabeu where he won five Champions League titles.

Bale is yet to start a game for his new club and was on the bench once again in their match against their Western conference rivals.

And, in the 87th minute, Bale announced his presence with a wonderful solo goal to the aplomb of the home fans.

The ex-Tottenham attacker picked up the ball on right wings roughly 40 yards away from Real Salt Lake’s goal and proceeded to race past two opponents.

Bale made his way into the box, cut inside and then fired his effort past the goalkeeper.

That was Bale's second goal for Los Angeles following his strike against Sporting Kansas City in July.

Why Gareth Bale Turned Down Move to Cardiff City in Favour of Los Angeles FC Explained

Meanwhile, Bale had initially considered retirement but made a U-turn when Wales qualified for the World Cup. The perceived idea was for him to find a short-term club to keep fit as the Qatar event drew closer.

A move back to his home country to join Cardiff City was mooted. On paper, it looked like a perfect move for the most-decorated British player of all time. It could have been a homecoming of sorts after numerous successful years abroad.

But as Daily Mail reports, other factors might have contributed to Bale choosing to head to North America. He is a well-known lover of golf and in Los Angeles, he will have access to two of the best golf courses: The Riviera and the Los Angeles Country Club.

Gareth Bale Reunites With Ex Real Madrid Teammates

Sports Brief earlier reported that Gareth Bale reconnected with his former Real Madrid teammates in Los Angeles just weeks after bidding farewell to the Spanish champions in June.

The 33-year-old moved to the Major League Soccer last month after penning a deal with Los Angeles Football club after falling out of favour with the Real Madrid hierarchy.

Bale has now stormed the Real Madrid preseason camp in the USA, greeting and embracing the Madrid players during a training session The Irish Sun reports.
