Real Madrid star Eden Hazard says he would get rid of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) from football if he had the opportunity to.
According to the Belgium captain, VAR has had negative impacts on the game since its introduction in 2018.
The VAR is a match official in association football who reviews decisions made by the referee while also notifying the referee of things he might have missed such as fouls and offside.

“You know I don’t like that much this VAR. I don’t like it, I will remove it.”
He then explained his reasoning after being asked why.
Hazard said: “Because it is part of football that referees to do mistakes and you know, because people they are just complaining all the time so that is why they made this VAR.”
