SportsBible recently reported that Newcastle are the latest Premier League side to express an interest in the player. Liverpool and Arsenal are also said to be monitoring the player's situation.

Football Espana has since reported that no offers have come in for Asensio and that he looks likely to remain with Madrid until his contract expires next season.

The Spaniard joined Madrid in 2014 from Mallorca and has made 235 appearances for the club, scoring 49 goals during that time. With Madrid looking for a proven goalscorer to deputise for Karim Benzema, Asensio may have a chance to prove himself in the Spanish capital.

Asensio is also looking to nail down a place for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in November, and is looking for regular game time to ensure he's fit for that tournament.

Real Madrid's Marco Asensio makes important transfer decision with Arsenal interested in his services

Marco Asensio is now ready to take a pay cut to move away from Real Madrid this summer. Asensio wants to move elsewhere, where he will have significant playing time as he hopes to make it to Luis Enrique's World Cup squad.

He was being used sparingly by Real Madrid's head coach Carlo Ancelotti last season, with Rodrygo Goes and Federico Valverde preferred instead upfront.

Football London now reports that the winger has made the decision to reduce his wages to attract suitors. The report further states that Arsenal could look into the possibility of signing the Spanish international.
