They required successive hattricks from Karim Benzema to see off Paris Saint-Germain and the holders Chelsea in the round of 16 and quarter-finals, respectively.

Real Madrid lucky to win the Champions League

The Daily Mail now reports that Soriano thinks that Madrid should consider themselves lucky they won.

Whoever wins the league is the best team in the league. We say internally, "the league is our bread and butter. This is what we do for a living: the league
The Champions League is a trophy that we want, but we know that it is subject to a bit of luck and we are not obsessed.
People talk today about the success that Madrid have had in recent years, and I think it would be fair to say that they were a bit lucky. Perhaps I could say that they deserved to lose against PSG, against Chelsea, against us or against Liverpool.

Manchester City are still in the hunt for their first-ever Champions League title.

Bernardo Silva is interested in joining Barcelona

Sports Brief had earlier reported that new reports had emerged that Bernardo Silva asked Barcelona to sign him via a text message in 2021.

The Manchester City star has been at the centre of a silent war between Pep Guardiola and his former player turned coach Xavi Hernandez.

Numerous reports claim that Xavi is heavily interested in signing the Portuguese utility player this summer and it is understood that Silva asked Barcelona officials to draw up a contract for him when they were signing Ferran Torres.
